We are looking at many other features to add to the Antique Trail sites, but we do want to keep focused on our real goal. We don't want to lose site of being the best guide to antique stores throughout the U.S. The other features are just to supplement that goal.
One area that we want to expand is the resources. It would be nice to have a lot of handy resources for collectors and for dealers, too. Many of the resources will be from other sites (with their permission)but we also are developing some of our own from a variety of sources. The ones that we are developing are ones that we have needed but could find anywhere.
We also want to vastly expand the Events List. There are so many events out there related to antiques and we want to be a great source for those. Right now you have to go all over the place to find different events.
We also want to expand the listings for auctions, flea markets, trade shows, etc.
One thing that we don't want to do is to lose our focus. Again the primary focus is to be an antique store directory. We have seen other sites that use the idea of being an antique store directory so they can add all kinds of little "get rich quick" Internet schemes. Those sites usually have some store listings but they are lost in ads for one make money now pitches. In Texas, where we have developed the first Antique Trails site, one "major" antique directory is more just a mass of all kinds of these get rich quick schemes. In between these ads for the gullible, is a large number of outdated lists of antique stores - most of whom have been closed for years. If sites like that spent more time providing accurate information on antique stores instead of all these stupid little money making plans that never work. The lists of antique stores is more a gimmick to draw the unsuspecting than to actually be a resource for antique shoppers.
If you have ideas or things you would like to see on the sites, suggest them here.
